This personal blog is run by Joshua Zaleski. This policy explains how information is used when you visit or subscribe.
Newsletter
When you subscribe, I collect your email address and basic signup records, including your IP address, signup source and confirmation details. You must confirm your subscription before receiving new essays. Emails track opens and link clicks so I can understand reader engagement.
Website analytics and cookies
The site collects usage information such as pages visited, referring websites, browser and device details, and approximate location derived from your IP address. This helps me understand readership and improve the site. Subscriber features may use a recognition cookie lasting up to one year. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
Service providers
Providers supporting website hosting, email delivery and analytics process information for those purposes.
Retention and your choices
Subscription records are retained to manage subscriptions and honor your preferences. Unsubscribing stops newsletter emails but does not automatically erase those records. Unconfirmed signups are reviewed periodically. Email delivery reports are retained for 30 days; website analytics are retained on an ongoing basis. Backups may contain earlier copies of information.
You can unsubscribe through the link in any newsletter email. For privacy questions or requests to access, correct or delete your information, contact contact@joshuazaleski.com. Some information may need to remain to honor an unsubscribe request or meet applicable obligations.
